This building permit is for the construction of a project that must satisfy the criteria for over the counter issuance. This building permit is limited to the identified scope and has been approved for issuance based on how the scope was represented to Kitsap County. Approval for issuance of this permit is granted without the benefit of construction document review and without detailed plans and specifications.
LIMITED SCOPE OF BUILDING PERMIT. Over the counter building permits are strictly limited to the scope of work as identified within the permit application. No additional work, remodeling or expansion beyond the identified scope is authorized. Any changes in the scope of work will require additional review and/or additional permits.
FIELD CORRECTIONS AS REQUIRED: The construction of the permitted project is subject to inspections by the Kitsap County Department of Community Development. Though no review has occurred, it remains imperative that all construction be done in full compliance with Kitsap County Code (KCC), including the Kitsap County Building & Fire Code as adopted in KCC 14.04.040, along with all of the codes adopted by reference therein. Any corrections, changes or alterations required by a Kitsap County Building or Fire Inspector shall be made prior to requesting additional inspections.
Re-Roofing: Upon roof covering replacement, uninsulated roofs, or roofs with all insulation installed exterior of the roof sheathing, shall be insulated to a minimum of R-49 for flat ceilings and R-38 for vaulted ceilings. All interior insulation shall be installed in a manner that will allow for a minimum of a one inch continuous vented airspace above the level of insulation.
Permit Expiration: Building permits expire 365 days after permit issuance, or 180 days after the last approved inspection activity is performed. The Building Official may extend the time for action for a period not exceeding 180 days, upon the receipt of a written extension request indicating that circumstances beyond the control of the permit holder have prevented action from being taken. Additional fees may be due to reactivate the permit.
Reinspection Fee: All approved plans for this permit and the printed building permit with conditions are required to be on-site for inspection purposes, and work to be inspected shall be complete and ready for inspection. If an inspection is called for and plans are not available on site, or the work is not ready for inspection, or if previously identified corrections have not been made, approval will not be granted. In addition, a re-inspection fee will be charged and must be collected by the Department of Community Development prior to any further inspections being performed or approvals granted.
Final Inspection Required: All building permits shall have a final inspection performed and approved by the Kitsap County Department of Community Development prior to permit expiration. The failure to request a final inspection or failure to obtain final approval prior to expiration will be documented in the legal property records on file with Kitsap County as being non-compliant with Kitsap County ordinances and building regulations and will be referred to Kitsap County Code Compliance for action.
